CENTRAL EAST, Fla. (Nov. 15, 2007) - Kicking off the first official season of the new Daytona Beach International Festival (DBIF), the renowned Dallas Brass will give a blast of holiday cheer at a special Christmas concert in Daytona Beach.One of America's foremost musical ensembles, the Dallas Brass concert will feature songs from their latest album, 'American Musical Journey,' as well as popular hits from their Christmas album, 'A Merry Christmas with Brass.'The ensemble will perform on Tuesday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mainland High School Performing Arts Center (1255 W. International Speedway Boulevard).

Known for their unique combination of traditional brass instruments and a full complement of drums and percussion, the Dallas Brass offers a wide repertoire of classical, Dixieland, Broadway, patriotic music, and even hip-hop.Founded in 1983, the ensemble has performed with symphonies nationwide, including the New York Pops and Cincinnati Pops, and has appeared on nationally televised programs such as the CBS 'Early Show.'The group includes founding member Michael Levine, trombone; Brian Neal, trumpet; D.J. Barraclough, trumpet; Chris Castellanos, French horn; Nat McIntosh, tuba; and Edward Littlefield, percussion.

With a presence that captures the heart of even the youngest audiences, the Dallas Brass prides itself in offering programs for the entire family to enjoy.The group is dedicated to working with young, aspiring musicians, regularly visiting public schools to give clinics and workshops for students of all ages. During their visit to Daytona Beach, the Dallas Brass will be providing concert workshops at DeLand and Seabreeze High Schools.The workshops apply to all instruments, and include performance of several selections and the opportunity for student questions.
