POSITION TITLE: PRODUCTION AND EVENT MANAGER
LOCATION:DAYTONA BEACH, FLORDIA AND SURROUNDING LOCAL COMMUNITIES
SERVICE TERM:CONTRACT POSITION (SEPTEMBER 1, 2008 THRU MAY 15, 2009)
REPORTS TO:DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations in producing the Daytona Beach International Festival.The ideal candidate will have extensive management experience in all aspects of concert, theater and event production.This candidate will be required to have exceptional organizational skills and must be able to handle the competing demands of a complex cultural arts festival.The Production Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing all technical issues and logistics; scheduling and supervising stage crew; and monitoring the production budget.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Advance all technical requirements associated with festival artists and tour productions.
§ Assist the Director of Operations in writing RFPs by providing detailed and documented reports outlining all production needs (audio, lighting, backline, video projection and staffing).
§ Assist the Director of Operations in arranging production meetings with contractors, technical crew and concert venues.
§ Assist the Director of Operations in creating and designing blueprints for new festival projects.
§ Coordinate and manage outside production suppliers and contractors.
§ Schedule and manage technical staff for each of the festival concerts and events.
§ Work within set deadlines and budgets to fulfill technical and production requirements.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
§ Five plus years of professional experience in the management of concert production, theater production, and event production.
§ Superior knowledge of all production disciplines (audio, lighting, video projection, staging and staffing) including a thorough understanding of how to incorporate these disciplines during the production process.
§ Knowledge of symphonic and classical music production.
§ Working knowledge and understanding of IATSE rules and regulations.
§ Ability to work within financial budgets and timelines.
§ High level of administrative, organizational and personnel skills.
§ Strong leader with a collaborative working style.
§ Must be able available to work in Daytona from April 1 thru May 8.
EDUCATION:
College degree preferred; Certified professional training and/or experience in live concert/theater production required.
